People were warning about genetically engineered corn back in the early 1990's. I used to go to USU campus and read the papers. They had stuff from all over the world and even obscure farmer newspapers there too. But that wasn't mainstream. I guess they "bought the ticket and took ride", as Hunter Thompson would write.

It's probably a foolish comment, because genetic corn is like a virus, if the 1990's papers were legit lol. If a farmer plants "conventional" corn, it will be assimilated like some crazy alien film. Corn is the most important crop to Mexicans and they were reportedly freaked out about being Owned Monsanto.
